Prestige Fleet Servicing to sponsor top speedway team

Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire January 2016
Prestige Fleet Servicing (Prestige) is sponsoring top Silverstone-based speedway race team, Revolution Speedway, this season as well as providing customers the chance to test their reactions on a race team speedway bike at outside and corporate events during the year.

Speedway is growing in popularity in the UK and has a huge following in central and northern Europe, especially in Poland, Sweden, and Denmark. .

The Revolution race team of two professional riders and a 13-year-old academy rider, based at the world-famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, will see their riders competing in the Sky Sports Elite League, the British Championship at senior and junior level and the Premier League in the UK, plus a number of events across Europe.

In addition, both Revolution Speedway's professional riders will be competing for selection in Team Great Britain's squad for this year's Monster Energy Speedway World Cup.

The Revolution race team operates with two pro-riders, Lewis Kerr and Lewis Bridger, who are both in contention for this year's British Championship, and will run eight bikes, which have only one gear, no brakes and can reach 0-60mph in only three seconds.

The Revolution race team will be on hand at a variety of external events, including Prestige's customer roadshows and the Fleet World Fleet Show at Silverstone in May, with a race bike linked to a reaction tester to allow visitors to pit their starting reactions against those of a professional speedway rider.

Rob Painter, Race Team Director of Revolution Speedway, said the Prestige sponsorship was extremely important to the race team.

"Speedway is growing in popularity in this country, but it is an expensive motorsport and it is very important for the race team to have sponsorship and support of this kind, and we are delighted that Prestige has decided to back us this season.

"We will be attending various roadshows and external events so that Prestige customers and network centre staff can test their reactions against those of our pro-riders and see for themselves what some of the challenges of speedway are," he said.

Joe Bhamra, Commercial Director at Prestige, commented: "We are delighted to be sponsoring Revolution Speedway this season, one of the up-and-coming teams in British speedway with a great future ahead of it.

"Revolution is keen to promote young British riders and that is a cause we are keen to support. They are also very focused on the team ethic - as are we here at Prestige. We also see this as an ideal opportunity to promote our message to a wider audience.

"We look forward to their presence at many of our external corporate events this year," he added.

Prestige, which provides vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair work for leasing companies, fleet management providers, corporate fleets and aftermarket warranty companies, finished last year on a high as its network of independent service centres reached close to 300 for the first time. .

It also achieved several major new business wins, including one very large national fleet, plus a major vehicle auction house, a leading breakdown and recovery operator and several key corporate fleets..

Such has been the scale of Prestige's new business success that it will be looking to further extend its network of independent service centres this year to ensure it completes its national coverage for its diverse and growing range of clients.
